Matthew 28:19-20
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Some of the missionaries we support serve in sensitive areas with high security concerns. Some live under governments where Christianity is illegal. To protect their identity and their evangelical work, they have limited or no online presence. Even though these missionaries must remained unnamed, please pray for them and their work in the countries they call home.
Mike and Ana are appointed AG missionaries to Romania, a country from which we miraculously escaped communism in November, 1981. Since the fall of Communism, we felt compelled to take the Gospel of Jesus to the people of Romania. Year after year we took mission teams across Romania, preaching the Gospel and seeing many people saved. After the revolution Romania was lacking ministers, places of worship and leaders to help integrate and disciple new converts. Seeing this great need, we prayed and fasted, waiting on God to show us the next step. When the answer finally came, we left behind our jobs, our three married children, and our grandchildren to answer the call to full-time missions. We returned to Romania with the objective of planting churches, training leaders, and serving in the unreached region of Southeast Romania.
In 1989 Gerald and Jane started our ministry with the organization Assemblies of God World Missions. Gerald comes from a family of builders in Texas and he has a degree in Economics. Jane’s degree is in communications and Spanish with a Masters in International Journalism. Our first assignment was the construction of Christian Center, an international church in Brussel, Belgium. We then returned to the United States and worked in our fields of expertise in Palm Springs, California. There, our first child, Tori, was born. Next came our assignment to Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. There we hosted construction teams and build three churches on the island. There, our second child, Tali, was born. From there we moved to Haifa, Israel in 1994. We did construction projects for our organization in East Jerusalem, Nazareth, Hadar (Haifa), and Shfaram. During our five years in Israel we also worked on and completed Carmel Assembly worship center. Our daughter, Anna Yael, was born in Haifa. We moved to Ukraine in 1999 to build a seminary for our organization, Evangel Theological Seminary. Following the completion of that building in 2000 we stayed on until 2010 working on building projects across the former Soviet Union including Siberia, Georgia, Moldova and the Baltics. Our son, Sidney Andrew, and our daughter, Grace, were born in Ukraine.
In 2010 our focus changed to ministry to unreached people groups. So, we moved to Crimea, in the South of Ukraine to serve the Crimean Tatar people. We were there for three years until Crimea was taken over by Russia and we had to leave. Praise God for this three-year window. During our time in Crimea out team planted seven home churches and a central Tatar church in Simferopol. We also built and opened a men’s rehab center, translated and printed literature in the Crimean Tatar language, dug nine wells, held four conferences per year for development of workers for ministry to Muslims, and hosted two annual Summer camps for youth and kids.
Now we are back in the Ukrainian capital working alongside the national church in what we call “project 400”. Our goal is to plant 400 churches in five years. The Lord is blessing, and we are well on our way to that goal by 2020!
The Goldschmidts have been serving in Scotland since 2007. They have been a part of many different ministries and are willing to try new ways of reaching the people of Scotland with the Gospel. They are currently church planting in Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city, and God is doing amazing things through Bridge Family Church. Through toddler groups, soccer team chaplaincy, outreaches in the local Starbucks and participating in the Largest Creative Festival in the world people from all parts of the World are hearing about Jesus through their ministry. Continue to pray for the Goldschmidts.
In 2009 Rabbi Jeff and Vixie Friedman under the direction of former Assembly of God World Missions director Rev. John Bueno launched the ministry of Jacob’s Hope. Furthermore the goal was to bring hope to Jewish people around the world. In 2011 the ministry of Jacob’s Hope was placed under the direction of Dr. Joann Butrin director of International Ministries. In addition Jacob’s Hope has ministered to Jewish people around the world in Eastern Europe, Ethiopia, Africa, and of course Israel. Especially relevant is that these efforts have had a tremendous impact on the lives of Jewish people. This impact is continuing today through the ministry of Jacob’s Hope. Most of all we pray G-d’s continued blessing and shalom on Jeff and Vixie who retired in 2015 from Assemblies of God World Missions. Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support.
Recently we have seen many more Jewish people come to faith in Messiah more then in the beginning of this ministry. Therefore Jacob’s Hope team believes as we approach the return of our Savior more Jewish believers will come to know Messiah. Thus the fields are white and ready to be harvested, join us in this harvest.
Finally please partner with Jacob’s Hope and continue the great work the Friedman’s started.
